
Birth control pills from Teva Canada were remembered due to additional yellow tablets
Health Canada issued a recall notice for some season’s birth control products on Friday, with some packages the right blue-green pills, which come with outer yellow tablets.
The agency states that recall is made by 0.01-Migram Ethinil Estradiol, 0.03-Miligram Athini Lestradiol and 0.15-Miligram Levonorgestrail season tablets are made by Teva Canada.
Health Canada said that those who find yellow pills should not consume them and return the product to the pharmacy for a replacement or option, saying that people who cannot return them immediately, should continue to take blue-green pills regularly, unless they are able to return them.
“If you have taken a yellow tablet instead of a blue-green tablet … or if you are uncertain, you should also use another method of non-hormonal back-up contraceptive (such as condoms) and consult with your health care professional,” The agency said,
Friday’s contraceptive tablet recall is the latest by Canada.
On Thursday, it recalled its seasonal pills (0.15-miligram levonorgestrail and 0.03-miligram ethinil estradiol) due to white placebo tablets between regular pink pills.
