Westjet affects access to internal systems, apps with ‘cyber security phenomenon’

The Westjet is alerting its employees and the public about the “cyber security incident” which includes the internal system and app of the Calgary-based airline.

In A news continues On Friday, the airline said many people trying to reach its services have faced “restricted access” as a result of the incident.

“We have activated special internal teams in cooperation with law enforcement and transport Canada to investigate the case and limit the effects.”

The release states that the airline apologizes for protecting its operation and “intensifying efforts” to “protect sensitive data and personal information”, and for any disruption to reach its services.

It said that it is “very early to speculate on any details,” but will share more information when the wastezet is available, and advises people to use its services and employees who are cautious about sharing personal data.
