Canada Post says this 2nd has reached a deal with the largest union CPAA
The Canada Post says it has reached an agreement with Canadian Postmaster and Assistants Association, the second largest union to represent its workers.
The Union represents 8,500 of the employees of Crown Corporation, most of which are responsible for the management of post offices in rural areas of the country.
The new collective agreement states 11 percent increment in three years, rebel on January 1, 2024, in a statement on Thursday at the Canada Post. Both sides have been talking for 18 months.
The corporation has yet to reach a deal with its largest union, Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW), who sent its final proposal to the group last month.
Cupw members went on a 32-day strike when both sides failed to negotiate the collective agreement.
