Open application for Canada’s new disability advantage program

Canada’s new disability advantage – a program that provides $ 200 per month eligible people – now open to applications.

The program is available to people with disabilities between the ages of 18 and 64, who have already been approved for disability tax credit. The government says that the payment is scheduled for starting in July.

Payments are to complement provincial and regional programs, and Job Minister Patty Hazdu said that all the provinces and regions except Alberta have promised not to return their own benefits.

This benefit was part of the Word of the Trudeau Liberal government, which helped disabled people out of poverty.

Many advocates have taken advantage for people with disabilities, saying that it will actually reduce to address poverty.

Hajdu, whose new portfolio covers disability, said that they had heard that criticism.

“I don’t think disability (profit) is what a person needs to maintain himself, and I don’t think it was designed in that way,” he said in a recent interview.

“But it is a payment that allows for complete autonomy of people with disabilities that it is not guided to anything. It is a benefit that people can use for other earnings or complements of income that they have.”

As part of the program, the government is providing funds to community organizations to help those who may require guidance when applying for a tax credit or profit program.
