Ford remembers about one lakh new vehicles in Canada, US over fuel pump concerns

Ford is recalling about one million cars in Canada and the United States as low-pressure fuel pumps inside vehicles may fail-and potentially causes an engine stall when driving, accident risks, accident risks.

Ford has planned to send a notification letter to the affected owners starting on Monday to warn the security risks related to potential fuel pump failure. But a measure is still “under development”, the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration recalled the report notes.

It was not immediately clear that there was an estimate if a fix would be available. But this week’s recall report said that the owners will receive an additional letter with the instructions to take their car to an authorized dealer for that service when the time will come – and there will be no fee.

Associated Press reached Ford for further comments on Thursday.

Michigan -based automakers do not know about any accident or injuries related to this recall, this week’s report note. But owners should look out for potential warnings. Prior to fuel pump failure, customers can withstand poor engine performance, for example, a check engine light or reduction in engine power.

Fuel pump failure is “more likely to be more likely” during the warm weather, or if the tank has low fuel, the recall report note. And the loss of fuel pressure and flow may be due to other factors, the internal contamination of the car’s jet pump. Ford also identified supplier changes during a review of the manufacturing process, the report states.

Ford estimates that this fuel is a risk in 10 percent of the 850,318 vehicles remembering in the US.

Transport Canada Said that 107,534 are affected in this country under memory.
