Ottawa public health city investigated 5th measles case

Ottawa Public Heath is warning to those who visited three bank street businesses with a movie theater, a gym and a craft store last week that they must have come in contact with Khasare.

In a Thursday news release, the Health Unit said it confirmed the fifth measles case of the city this year.

He said that the person signed the disease while traveling in western Canada.

OPH says that those who were in the following places at the specified time should monitor the symptoms for 21 days:

  • Shoppers Drug Mart 702 in Bank St. on Tuesday, August 5 am to 9:30 pm
  • Michaels 165 Training Dr. On Tuesday, Dr. August 5 between 8:15 pm to 10:30 pm on August 5
  • On Wednesday, 34 Beach Fitness Lab in St., August 6, 5:45 am to 8:45 pm
  • WILF and ADA’s 510 Bank St. between 12:30 pm to 4 pm on Thursday 7 August
  • Izakaya Shingen 201 Bank St. on Friday, August 8 August 5 pm to 8 pm
  • Cineplex Odone 2385 City Park Dr. Friday on Friday, August 8, during 6:50 pm Fantastic Four: First Steps.

In a separate news release, the Ottawa Hospital said that “isolated case of measles” was identified in the General Campus emergency department.

The hospital said that it is informing employees and patients who have been exposed. OPH confirmed that it was the same person with his release.

The OPH said that the risk for the general population at this time is low and there is no evidence of local transmission of measles in 2025.
