Congo’s Health Ministry announced new Ebola outbreak

The Ministry of Health of Congo on Thursday announced a new Ebola outbreak in the Central African country after a case was confirmed in the Southern Butcher province.

Congo Health Minister Shamuel-Razor Kamba said, “Aaj Tak, the provisional report shows 28 suspicious cases and 15 deaths, including 14 in the bowl and one in Mauwka, as well as four health care activists.”

He said that 53.6 percent of the estimated case showed a fatal rate, gravity of the situation.

He said the figures were provisional and research was on. Suspicious cases and deaths presented symptoms such as fever, vomiting, diarrhea and bleeding.

The Ebola virus is highly contagious and can be contracted through physiological fluids such as vomiting, blood or semen. The disease caused by this is rare but severe – and often fatal – for humans.
