Internet infrastructure company Cloudflare said Friday it was investigating an early morning outage that took down several global websites including LinkedIn and Zoom, the second such incident to hit the company in less than three weeks.
Cloudflare said the issue has been resolved, and it is “investigating issues with the Cloudflare dashboard and related APIs,” or application programming interfaces, which allow software systems to communicate with each other.
The company, which is a content delivery network, said the outage was not caused by an attack. The company said “Cloudflare’s network was unavailable for several minutes this morning” due to a change in the way its firewall handles requests.
Users on X also reported problems accessing the website.
In November, a Cloudflare outage affected users of everything from ChatGate and online games to League of Legends For the New Jersey Transit System.
Last month, Microsoft had to deploy a fix to fix an outage in its Azure cloud portal that left users unable to access Office 365, Minecraft, and other services. The tech company wrote on its Azure status page that the outage was caused by a configuration change in its Azure infrastructure.
Amazon also experienced a sharp decline in its cloud computing service in October.
