Mumbai: The Bandra police apprehended a 34-year-old man for harassing a woman at Bandra Reclamation area while threatening to distribute her footage on social media platforms.
During the incident, the accused physically attacked a police officer. The authorities filed charges against him for inappropriate behaviour and interfering with government personnel performing their duties.
Police identified the accused as Babar Rehmat Khan, who serves as a private security guard.Police reports indicate the 26-year-old victim was visiting Bandra Reclamation with a companion when Khan began pursuing her. He reportedly verbally abused her and threatened to publish her video online.
Bandra Police took Khan into custody and escorted him to the station. At the station, he continued his disruptive behaviour, directing verbal abuse towards the officers. Police said Khan, in an aggressive state, attacked police constable Gorade and damaged another officer’s uniform. He was booked for inappropriate behaviour and obstruction of a public servant’s duties. tnn
