Brace for megablocks on Central Railway (CR) suburban today; may inconvenience commuters
This will affect train schedules on the Main and Harbour lines. Some trains will be diverted, and others may experience delays. Passengers are advised to plan their journeys accordingly.

MUMBAI: On the Main line, CR will operate a block on its suburban sections carrying out various engineering and maintenance works on 5th & 6th lines between Thane and Diva from 10.50am to 03.20pm.
The UP fast/Semi fast Locals departing Kalyan from 10.28 am (Ambarnath local A-26) to 3.06 pm(Khopoli local KP-8) will be diverted on Up slow line between Kalyan and Thane stations and will halt at Diva, Mumbra and Kalva stations in addition to their respective scheduled halts and will further be re-diverted on Up fast line at Thane station and will arrive at destination 10 mins later than the scheduled arrival.
The block will also result in diversion of some Mail/Express trains on Up fast line between Kalyan and Thane stations and will arrive at destination 10 to 15 mins behind schedule. This includes train number 12140 (Nagpur-CSMT Exp), 22160 (Chennai-CSMT Exp), 22226 (Solapur-CSMT Vande Bharat), 12168 (Banaras-LTT Exp), 12321 (Howrah -CSMT Exp), 12812 (Hatia -LTT Exp), 11014 (Coimbatore -LTT Exp), 12142 (Patliputra -LTT Exp), 12294 (Prayagraj-LTT DURONTO Exp), 11080 (Gorakhpur-LTT Exp), 11060 (Chapra-LTT Exp), 12164 (Chennai – LTT Exp) and 12162 (Agra Cantt – LTT Exp). There will also be diversion of five Down Mail and Express trains while two trains will be short-terminated, an official said.
On Harbour line, the block will be carried out on the Up and Down Trans-Harbour line between Thane and Vashi/Nerul stations from 11.10am to 4.10pm. Trans-Harbour line services will remain suspended between Vashi/Nerul and Thane stations during the block period.
“These maintenance mega blocks are essential for infrastructure upkeep and safety. Passengers are requested to bear with the railway administration for the inconvenience caused,” added CR chief spokesperson Swapnil Nila.

No day block on Western Railway suburban today; relief to commuters

The Western Railway will not have a megablock on the suburban section today and this will be a relief to several commuters who will take local trains along Churchgate-Virar section.
The WR, however, carried out a night block at the Vasai Road yard. “To carry out maintenance work of tracks, signaling and overhead equipment, a block of three hours was taken from 12.15 am on Sunday to 3.15am at Vasai Road yard including all goods line,” said an official saying that therefore there will be no block during daytime on Sunday.
