Competition Bureau filed a lawsuit alleging promotion of misleading price to Food Distribution Company Dordash

The competition bureau said on Monday that it was advertising at an online food delivery company Dordash at a lower price by advertising their services to allegedly misleading consumers, which is actually at a lower price than the customers who are paying.

The agency’s readout said, “A bureau investigation found that consumers were unable to buy food and other items at the websites advertised on the websites and mobile applications in addition to the mandatory fee in the checkout.”

“This exercise is usually known as drip pricing and misleading because consumers are not presented with advances advances.”

The bureau filed an application with the competition tribunal, which handles matters related to Canadian competition laws.

This is demanding a result that will receive a fine to Dordash and replenished the affected customers, besides referring to it as a “misleading” price and discount advertisement and fees depicting fees as taxes.

Spokesperson Parker Dooro, in an email statement, told CBC News that transparency in the company is a “highest priority” and denied that Dordash hides or misleads the fees from consumers.

The statement stated, “All fees on Dordash, which support the high-quality operation of our platform, are clearly labels and disclosed to consumers during the order of order-with a final review before paying, the statement is read in the statement.

“To be clear, Dordash does not hide fees from consumers or does not mislead them in any way. This application is a misguided and high effort to target one of the major local commerce platforms of Canada. It is wrongly singing Dordash, and we have the interaction to protect strictly against these claims.”
