Ludhiana: The District Consumer Disputes RedressalCommission has ordered an EV scooter manufacturer and it’s authorised dealer to refund the invoice value (₹65,000) of an E-scooter to a buyer after it developed a major snag. The commission also ordered two firms to pay a composite cost of ₹5,000 to complainant Vidya Sagar Jindal of Raikot. As per reports, the complainant had purchased a ‘Neelam’ e-Scooter from a firm in Malerkotla on Dec 21, 2022, for a total amount of ₹65,000, which the complainant paid through NEFT. The complainant stated that he had purchased the
bike for personal use, but the very next day of purchase, it developed a technical snag and did not start. TNN

Tragedy struck on Ring Road in southeast Delhi when a speeding garbage truck fatally struck a woman and seriously injured her husband. The couple, Hardevi (47) and Shyamacharan, were riding a scooter when the truck slammed into them from behind. Hardevi died at the scene, while Shyamacharan was hospitalized.
