Health Canada extends recall of Oster toaster ovens that left some users burned

According to the health agency, the recall applies to several models that are experiencing the same malfunction: TSSTTVFDXL, TSSTTVFDDGDS, TSSTTVFDDG-033, TSSTTVFDXLPP-033 and TSSTTVFDDAF-033.

Consumers can find the model number on the back of the appliance or on the original packaging.

The health agency first issued the recall on certain models in September, but expanded it to include one additional model – Model TSSTTVFDDG-033 – Tomorrow.

Oster says 104,195 Affected units were sold in Canada From August 2015 to July 2025.

Health Canada is urging Canadians to immediately stop using the recalled ovens, and to contact Sunbeam Products Inc. to receive a free repair kit. Contact.

Oster says They will send customers a clip-on device that prevents the door from closing while the oven is in use, along with instructions on how to install the device. The company is not offering refunds or replacements for the oven.

The recall also applies to models sold in the U.S. Oster says it has received 95 reports from U.S. consumers of injuries from doors closing unexpectedly, two of which were second-degree burns.

According to the company, no injuries have been reported in Canada.
