Summer warning to parts of the north and central coast of BC, parts of the southern interior
The summer warning on Monday is effective for parts of British Columbia, in which high temperature is expected to run during the week.
According to the environment Canada, in Fraser Canian and South Thompson regions, mercury may climb up to 39 C in some areas. The forecasting agency said that they could expect the area overnight in the next five days.
Meanwhile, on the northern coast of BC, the environment is estimating the Canadian heat up to 29C, which affects inland regions including kitimat and terrace, as well as the Central Coast.
“The temperature is very high and is a moderate risk for public health,” the environment reads Canada’s warning.
It is reminiscent of people to see for signs of heat disease, including heavy sweat, rash, cramps, and fainting.
Especially at risk people include senior people who live alone and people with already existing health conditions, Environment Canada said.
“Check on family, friends and neighbors, which are at high risk, especially if they live alone, to ensure that they have a cool place,” the heat reads. “If you are in a warm area, look for a cold place such as a tritrical area, splash pads, misting stations, or air-conditioned spaces like a public building.”
Meanwhile, a special air quality statement for the metro Vancouver has been issued due to smog, and in the Fraser Valley due to wildfire smoke. Environment Canada said the warnings are expected to run by at least Tuesday, and are suggesting people in those areas to limit external activities.
