Mumbai: IIM-Mumbai will expand its offerings next year with an online executive MBA, a part-time MBA and a specialised MBA in innovation and entrepreneurship—all aimed at equipping students for a rapidly evolving global marketplace. Admissions for the online MBA have already begun, while plans for the other programmes are underway.
According to director Manoj Tiwari, the MBA in innovation and entrepreneurship awaits final approval but is supported by a draft curriculum. The institute’s vision extends beyond coursework, with a newly established incubation centre set to nurture startups nationwide. Budding entrepreneurs will gain access to seed funding, industry mentorship and a collaborative campus environment. “We’ve encouraged our students to think of their hostel rooms as their garages, incubating ideas that can grow into successful ventures,” Tiwari said, emphasising the institute’s commitment to fostering innovation.
IIM-Mumbai is also aligning education with industry needs, offering short online courses on supply chain analytics and generative AI. These programmes will integrate video-based case studies and simulations, ensuring practical, impactful learning experiences.
Meanwhile, placements continue to reflect the institute’s growing stature, with 142 pre-placement offers and 134 students successfully placed so far. The annual average salary rose from Rs 25 lakh to Rs 35 lakh. Phase two of placements is slated for Jan.
Beyond academics, IIM-Mumbai is hosting Yuva Sangam, a cultural exchange programme under ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat’. Collaborating with IIT-Bhubaneswar, the initiative brings students from Odisha to Maharashtra, fostering meaningful interactions and cross-cultural learning. Additionally, 50 selected students from Maharashtra left to spend a week in Odisha.
