The outbreak of measles will proceed till extra persons are vaccinated: Sansk. leader Scientific Officer

Suskechewan’s Chief Medical Officer said at a news conference on Friday, “37 measles cases have been reported in Suskechewan from mid -May between Suskechewan. Only two cases from 2015 to 2024,

Dr. Saqib Shahab said that cases from five months to 57 years have been confirmed.

“Many families are still not accepting vaccines despite public health workers reaching the local level,” Shahab said. He said that most of the new cases are unnatural people in the southern rural parts of the province.

“This means that measles outbreak will continue. Hospitalization will continue. For high -risk individuals, under one, infants, pregnant women, and immunocompromized (people), who are at high risk for serious complications, will continue,” Shahb said.

Four of the 37 cases were admitted to the hospital.

Shahab said that in 70 percent of the reported cases reported are school-age children and small adults, and 95 percent of cases were in individuals.

He said, “Canada ended the local transmission of measles in 1998. Since then, the cases we will see will be individuals who have traveled to other parts of the world (and) returned,” he said.

“So it is extremely unusual for Susketewan and is extremely uncommon for the whole of Canada.”

In Ontario and New Breanswick, children are required to have evidence of vaccination for measles, or there is a valid discount on the file to go to school. In Suskechewan, there is no one where children do not need to vaccinate to go to school.

“In our experience, when children start school, we have a vaccination rate of 91 percent. So we have not felt the need for the essential vaccination of vaccination.”

When asked why he feels that people are not vaccinating, Shahb said that some people may think that there are no threats like measles, which they said that is wrong.

“People may be concerned about vaccines, but all these vaccines, including vaccines, measles vaccines, are extremely safe and effective. And if you have questions, please talk to your health care provider,” Shahab said.

He also said that there is a lot of wrong information about vaccination that people protect themselves to protect themselves.

He said that Shahab estimated that there are about 20,000 to 30,000 unnatural people in the province, and the increase in vaccine in the last two months, it is not enough to prevent outbreaks and community transmission, he said.

If an unnatural person develops fever, cough, red eyes and flowing nose, it can be the beginning of a measles infection, Shahab said. A rash develops on the back of the ears, the face, and two or three days after the symptoms begin to the rest of the body.

Shahab said, “As soon as the symptoms begin at home, do not go to a daycare or school, and remain isolated for at least four days after the onset of the rash,” this is important. “He also said that it is important to inform the health authorities where you are, so they can warn the public about potential exposure.

Suskechewan Health Authority says that there is no known treatment of measles, the vaccine is about 100 percent effective in preventing measles after two doses.
