Ludhiana: In a hurry to avoid code of conduct for the Municipal Corporation Ludhiana elections, local bodies minister Dr Ravjot Singh on Monday inaugurated different development projects in the city worth over Rs 120 crore. The projects include construction of Lohara bridge over Sidhwan canal and disposing of the accumulated legacy waste at Jamalpur dump site (around 19.62 lakh metric tonnes) and Jainpur site (over 2 lakh metric tonnes) of the civic body.The civic body had already kicked off the garbage processing on Saturday but it was inaugurated on Monday. tnn

Two multi-story buildings under construction in Jaipur’s Gokul Nagar were sealed by the JDA on Sunday for violating building codes. Officials found the four-story structures lacked required gangways and proper separation from adjacent buildings. Despite prior notices, the builders failed to rectify the issues, leading to the sealing under the JDA Act.
