The owner of the restaurant in Namakkal, who has stopped receiving food orders from large companies of online food delivery such as Swiggy and Zomato, has now shifted to a new online food delivery aggregator, zaroze, which only receives membership from eateries at monthly-bases.

From July 1, owners of eateries in Namakkal Town and Taluk stopped providing food to Swigi and Zamato, claiming that they were demanding high commissions and earning through hidden fees, causing restaurants owners to increase the price of food.

Currently, 50 restaurants have joined this new online food delivery platform and have started giving food through it. Earlier, eateries paid ₹ 20,000 to ₹ 30,000 as commission to other major online food delivery aggregators such as Swiji and Zomato every month. “Now, we are capable of saving 90% of money. If a restaurant pays the new aggregator of 3,000 with GST, it will distribute food without any limit. As they distribute groceries, meat and other items online, they are able to give food at this membership cost,” said Mr. Arul.

Enthusiastic response

Saying that there is a good response to the new aggregator among the public, Mr. Arul Murugan said that by Monday afternoon on the first day, 3,000 people downloaded Zaroz’s mobile application and 100 delivery was done till noon.
