Ludhiana: After playing for the Mumbai Indians for two years, Ludhiana lad Nehal Wadhera — bought for Rs 4.20 crores by the Punjab Kings at the IPL auction on Monday — will now play for the new team. After his selection, Nehal released a video saying that he is “delighted” to play for Punjab as it is his home team. A resident of BRS Nagar, Nehal has been in the limelight for the past some time.He played for MI in 2023 and 2024. Prior to this, in 2022, he was also named the highest ever scorer in the 26-year-history of JP Atray Memorial National ODI Tournament. In this tournament, Nehal scored 171 and surpassed Lalit Yadav’s 168 and Shikhar Dhawan’s 161 runs. Nehal’s parents, father Kamal Wadhera and mother Gurpreet Wadhera, are entrepreneurs.
