A judge of Ontario has approved an agreement in the class-action trial, in which Loblav and its core company George Weston Limited have accused them of engaging in an industry-wide plan to fix the price of bread.
In a written decision, Judge Ed Morgan says that $ 500 million is settled in excellent, fair and class members.
The disposal was reached last year and includes a combined $ 404 million paid by Lobla and George Weston.
The remaining $ 96 million has been accounted for through a gift card program, which was announced in 2017, in 2017 to amend to coordinate the price of some packed bread in 2001.
Once paid legal fees and other court expenses, the records show that 78 percent of the settlement funds will be allotted to residents outside Cubec and 22 percent will air with people in that province.
The bread packed for personal use for a piece of colony for personal use or for resale between January 2001 and December 2021 was purchased.
