Public Health Ontario says that 173 and people are infected with measles in the province in the last week.
The number of measles cases had increased to 1,795 since Ontario’s outbreak started in October.
The health agency’s weekly measles report, released on Thursday, says the virus mainly continues to spread among people who have not been vaccinated.
Most people infected with measles throughout the outbreak are babies, children and teenagers.
The report said that a total of 129 people need to be hospitalized, in which 10 people have been admitted to the intensive care unit.
The South -West Public Health Unit, including Oxford County, Elgin County and St. Thomas, remains the most difficult hit with 98 of the new cases.
Khasra has emerged in many parts of Canada, including Alberta, including more than 500 cases since March.
