The Canadian Food Inspection Agency states that a ostrich who was part of a BC herd, recently released by the Supreme Court of Canada.
The agency states that the universal Austrich form in Edgogwood, BC had a previous injury to the bird and pre -existing conditions that affected its left leg and dynamics, and was being treated by the owners for some time.
It says that the health of the bird is “significantly” in a two -day period before dying on Saturday.
Farm spokesman Katie Pasitney posted a video on Facebook, which confirms the news of death, before he accused the CFIA of animal cruelty, he said he “was dumping electrolytes”.
The CFIA did not immediately respond to the requests to address those claims, but said in a release that it was “administration of drug and electrolyte fluid to suit the medical rule provided by the owners.”
Cool was ordered after the outbreak of avian flu in the field, but the owners of the farm challenged the move that the birds that survived were healthy and scientifically valuable.
It was given a temporary recurrence by the Supreme Court of Canada last month following the final-migration of the pen.
The CFIA has stated that it will comply with the living and file a response with the High Court, while it maintains the control of the ostrich enclosure in the farm outside the small South -East BC community.
