Shiv Sena (UBT) Candidate Demands VVPAT Slip Tally Post Election Loss | Mumbai News

UBT candidate must apply for inspection of VVPAT slip tally

Nashik: Shiv Sena (UBT) candidate Sudhakar Badgujar, to examine 5% of EVMs, must apply in the prescribed format and pay Rs 40,000 per machine along with 18% GST within seven days after the election result as per the Nashik’s election department authorities. Badgujar demanded a recount of votes in Nashik West constituency. He was defeated by BJP’s Seema Hiray by a margin of 68,177 votes. The Sena (UBT) candidate said he was not interested in the EVMs’ inspection but wants a tally of VVPAT slips against the EVM vote count. He said, “There is no use of counting EVM votes afresh. I want to check votes already polled on Nov 20 by tallying it with VVPAT slips.”
