‘Singham Again‘ which released on November 1, is now set to complete a month in cinemas. The film had released with ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3‘ and while everywhere else, the collections of the Kartik Aaryan starrer were higher, ‘Singham Again’ dominated hugely in Mumbai. Thus, no wonder that the Ajay Devgn starrer has hit a century in Mumbai.
So far in the history of Hindi cinema, ‘Singham Again’ is the thirteenth film to do so. Aamir Khan’s ‘PK’ was the first film to make Rs 100 crore only from the Mumbai circuit, according to Box Office India. Till date, ‘Baahubali – The Conclusion’ holds the highest grossing movie record as it had made Rs 180 crore from Mumbai. ‘Stree 2’ comes second on this list with Rs 150 crore net solely from Mumbai. Other movies on this list of films which have crossed a century in Mumbai, include ‘PK’, ‘Dangal’, ‘Baahubali: The Conclusion’, ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’, ‘Pathaan’, ‘Gadar 2’, ‘Jawan’, ‘Animal’. Now ‘Singham Again’ joins this list and this year it’s the second film to do so, after ‘Stree 2’.
However, as far as the overall collections of the film are concerned, ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’ is now leading over ‘Singham Again’. The total collection of ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’ so far is Rs 249.10, while the total of the Rohit Shetty film so far is Rs 241.50 crore.
Now it’s expected that Allu Arjun starrer ‘Pushpa 2‘ will cross the record of ‘Baahubali 2’ in Mumbai which was Rs 180 crore nett.
