Ludhiana: A 42-year-old stationery shop owner, who allegedly molested a six-year-old girl, was arrested on Monday. The girl had gone to the shop of the accused to get a pencil when he molested her, police said.
“The girl rushed back home and told her mother about the incident. Area residents nabbed the accused and handed him over to the police,” said the police.
Before handing him over to the police, residents thrashed him in full public view.
The girl’s family told the police that she was doing homework on Sunday evening, when she needed a pencil. So, she went to the stationery shop of the accusedwho allegedly molested her.
The residents alleged that the earlier also, the accused had touched “some more girls inappropriately”.
