Stop 900 workers in Starbucks Shuttering Store, Canada and US

Starbucks is shutting around 900 non-replica employees and closing some US and Canadian stores as it concentrates its resources more on a turnaround.

Seattle coffee giant will inform the employees whose positions are being terminated in the early hours of Friday and said that it is planning to close an undeserved number in North America in the coming days.

A Starbucks Canadian spokesperson confirmed the news, but did not say how many Canadian employees would be affected or which Canadian locations would be closed.

Review of Starbucks locations showed that many financial performance are decreasing from goals or on Thursday, according to a letter sent by Starbuck CEO Brian Nikkol, the environment is failing to expect customers.

Nicole wrote, “Every year, we open and close the coffeehouses for several reasons, from financial performance to lease expiry.” “This is a more important action that we understand that we will influence partners and customers. Our coffeehouse is the centers of the community and it is difficult to close any location.”

Starbucks said on Thursday that it expects its financial year to finish with 18,300 stores in North America, which is below 124 since the previous year. It is rare for Starbucks to reduce its shop count during a financial year.

Nicole is a turnaround specialist, who was brought to Starbucks a year ago this month to give the brand a blow.

Under the leadership of Nicole, the struggling chipotal chain, where Nicole was the CEO for about six years, essentially its revenue and its benefits – and stock price – increased.

Starbucks stated that it would provide a break and support package for the affected employees.
