Tesla Registration 2025 in 1 quarter of Quebec 90% underneath

Cubec EV buyers’ relations with Tesla are indicating sales in the province in the first quarter of 2025.

According to the Auto Insurance Board of Quebec, only 524 Teslas were registered in Quebec between 1 January and 31 March. Société de L’Essurance Automobile du Cubek,

It is a 90 percent decline since the last quarter when 5,097 electric automakers’ cars were registered in the province, as reported by Le Devoyar earlier.

Data obtained by CBC News shows that Tesla registration in Quebec – the largest EV market in Canada, with Tesla – 2023 to 2024 to 30 percent from 2023 to 2024 before nozzling in early 2025 to 2025.

Although his participation in CEO Elon Musk and Trump administration has impacted “absolutely” sales, Electric Mobility Canada President Daniel Bretton says, because the founder of the EV company is beyond a common dislike, there is a possibility of contributing to the decline with tariffs and discount cuts.

The Federal EV exemption program encouragement for zero-e-vigilance vehicles (IZEV) ended on 31 March, and the Quebec program was stopped between 1 February and 1 April. The Quebec-based EV buyers were able to stack discounts due to the cost of a new vehicle over $ 12,000.

“Some dealers told me that … basically the message, okay, wait by April,” Bretton said, whose group focuses on advocacy for power transport. “Because (provincial) discount was to return.”

Bretton believes that more fullosom data for the same time period will show that Tesla is not the only EV manufacturer to take a hit in the Quebec market.

According to the initial S&P global data, electric vehicle registration in Quebec declined by 65 percent.

In addition, in response to US President Donald Trump’s levy, the US EVS, including Tesla, Revians and Lucid cars installed by the federal government, could be sold 25 percent.

“Now when the (Quebec) exemption is back, we will see what happens with EVS sales in general and Tesla, especially Tesla, said Breton, who owns a model 3 Tesla for four years.

He said, “I really disappointed what Elon Musk has been doing for the last one or two years. So I hope they find a way to solve it,” he said. “For me, Elon Musk is actually hurting the brand.”

According to the European Automobile Manufacturers Association, the joint effect of Musk’s politics and tariffs has been felt outside Quebec, Tesla’s sales have fallen by 49 percent year-on-year.

Look Tesla and Canadian Politics:

Tesla caught in political controversy amid tariffs imposed tariffs on Canadian imports

This week, the Vancouver International Auto Show removed American electric car manufacturer Tesla after a report of brutality from its program and protests at the BC and Tesla dealership in Canada. Sean Thompson, Factor E co-owner, a Canadian company that repairs electric vehicles and has recently started buying and selling Teslas, says the trade has become thicker.

In addition to working for the Trump administration, which has repeatedly threatened the Canadian sovereignty and has imposed harmful tariffs that enhance financial markets, Musk dismissed Canada, with the owner of the X -Social Media platform, in which he is not “a real country.”

He has also faced significant criticism on X to increase and support the principles of racist and antiseemic conspiracy and a gesture at Trump’s inauguration that has been interpreted as several Nazi salutes.

And Tesla is also investigating in Canada, when the company claimed to sell 8,653 vehicles in the last three days of the federal discount program, which was an amount of $ 43 million in the discount claims. The suspect number raised doubts, investigating by the federal government.

Despite some of the current concerns, the owner of Anne Picard, Dorwal, a Tesla model Y of Q, is owned by two Teslas for eight years – and says she will buy nothing else.

“I (other companies) do not have enough confidence to give equal level credibility,” he said.

He said that anyone who can buy an electric vehicle and believes that EV consumers should separate their political beliefs from their consumer decisions.

After parking his Tesla in Montreal’s gene talon market, Picard, who works in the IT Project Management, said, “Electric vehicles wouldn’t happen today if it was not for Elon Musk.”

Philip Berzeron Balengagar, who charged his electric Audi Q4 on Thursday in the neighborhood of Montreal, said, “He also,” he tries to quit politics with my choice, “but he will not change his car with Tesla when its lease is one year and a half.”

The Chinese EVS once provided an affordable option, noted by Berzron Balenzer, but not since Canada slapped more than 100 percent tariffs on those cars.

“I don’t think there is a strange debate in the family’s dinner or with friends. Otherwise, (Tesla) may have been in my top three,” said Burzeron Balener, who is a managing partner in an investment firm and says that he does not agree with Musk’s actions, but is more option on how the car is owned.

On the other hand, Picard believes it will fly soon – if it is not already.

Bretton says that there is no way to know whether Kasturi Baclash will have a permanent effect, saying that the next quarter will start painting a full -fledged picture.
