World epidemic settlement followed us amid absence

Members of the World Health Organization adopted an agreement on Tuesday, aimed at improving preparations for future epidemic, which after the global global reaction to Kovid -19, but the absence of America suspected the effectiveness of the treaty.

After a three -year conversation, a legitimate binding treaty was adopted by the World Health Assembly in Geneva. WHO member countries welcomed its death with applause.

The treaty was postponed as a win at a time for members of the global health agency, when a sharp cut in American foreign funding was defeated by multilateral organizations such as WHO.

“This agreement is a win for public health, science and multilateral action. It will ensure that we can, collectively, protect the world better than the dangers of future epidemic,” said the Director General Tedros Adnom Gabrisus.

The purpose of the treaty is to ensure that drugs, theraputics and vaccines are accessible globally when the next epidemic is a hit. The manufacturers participating to allocate a target of 20 percent of their vaccines, drugs and tests during an epidemic to ensure the reach of poor countries are required.

However, American negotiators gave up discussion about Accord after President Donald Trump started the 12-month process of withdrawing the US-from the agency to take over in January, from the agency, which was the largest financial backer.

Given this, the United States, which put billions of dollars in vaccine development during the Kovid epidemic, would not be bound by the treaty. And which members would not face the state penalty if they failed to implement it.

US Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Junior slammed the Legislative Assembly at a video address, saying that it failed to learn from epidemic lessons with a new agreement.

He said, “This epidemic has doubled with the agreement, which will be locked in all the laxity of the WHO epidemic response …. We are not going to participate in it,” he said.

Accord mixed reviews

The deal was signed after Slovakia was summoned for a vote on Monday, as its Covid -19 vaccine -scriptic Prime Minister demanded that his country challenged his adoption of the agreement.

One hundred twenty four countries voted in favor, no country voted, while 11 countries including Poland, Israel, Italy, Russia, Slovakia and Iran were stopped.

Some health experts welcomed the treaty as a step towards more fairness in global health, as poor nations were left less than vaccines and diagnosis during the Kovid -19 epidemic.

“It contains important provisions, especially in research and development, that – if applied – can move the global epidemic response to more equity,” the policy Advocasi Director, Reuters said in Michelle Children, Drugs for Ex -Dived Disease Initiatives.

Others said that the agreement did not fulfill the initial ambitions and that, without the structure of strong implementation, it hurts the fall of the future epidemics.

“This is an empty shell. … It is difficult to say that it is a treaty with a strong obligation where there is a strong commitment …. It is a good initial point. But it has to be developed,” said an academic advisor of the Global Health Center in the Geneva Graduate Institute, an independent research and education organization.

Helen Clarke, co-chairman of the independent panel for the preparation and response of the epidemic, described the Accord as a basis.

“Many intervals live in finance, in developing equitable access to medical counterers and developing risks,” he said.

The pact will not be effective until an attachment is finalized on sharing pathogenic information. The talks on this will begin in July, which will be aimed at giving attachment to the World Health Assembly for adoption, which said. A Western diplomatic source suggested that it could take up to two years to finalize it.
