₹2.5L taken by fraud, 2 arrested

Ludhiana: Division 1 police have arrested Deepak Kumar, a t-shirt manufacturer’s collection agent, and his friend Sahil for stealing ₹2.5 lakh. Deepak fabricated a story claiming his scooter, containing the cash, was stolen near Akalgarh market. During interrogation, police uncovered that Deepak and Sahil had staged the theft to embezzle the money. The duo misplaced the scooter and concocted the tale to mislead the employer.Assistant Commissioner of Police Anil Kumar Bhanot confirmed that both suspects confessed to the crime. The stolen scooter and cash have been recovered, and the accused are in custody.
