Mumbai: The Central Railway (CR) has changed the sequential numbering of platforms at Dadar station to improve passenger convenience and operational efficiency. This change addresses the issue of platform 10 being too short to accommodate 22-coach trains, resulting in three coaches extending beyond the platform in the Down direction.
Platform 10, which previously served both Mail/Express and suburban trains, has now been renumbered as platform 9A and will exclusively serve suburban trains. Platform 10A, formerly used for both types of trains, has been renumbered as platform 10 and will now solely accommodate Mail/Express trains, providing adequate space for 22-coach trains.
