Ludhiana: Khanna police have booked an unidentified driver for causing death due to negligence after two persons died in an accident in Doraha area. Police said Nilesh Kumar, 40, and Sunil Kumar, 28, of Pipra Kalan in Ballia district in Uttar Pradesh were living in Dugri village of Doraha and working at a factory. ASI Satpal Singh said the unidentified accused was booked under sections 281 (rash driving or riding on a public way), 106 (1) (causing death by negligence), 324 (2) (Mischief related) of the BNS.
Complainant Manish Rawat of Hiran Nagarin Unnao of Uttar Pradesh said that on Nov 19 at 1 pm, his uncle Nilesh, along with Sunil, was going to Doraha from the factory on a motorcycle to get household goods through the road built along the canal. When they reached beyond Gurdwara Baba Shaheed in Ajnod, a vehicle hit them. The complainant told police while his uncle died on the spot, Sunil died during treatment at a private hospital in Doraha.
He said their motorcycle was also damaged due to the accident. Manish alleged the accident occurred “due to the speeding, carelessness and reckless driving”.
